These subjects appear within stories centered upon survival, chosen family, accountability, recovery, restorative justice, and the endurance of love after trauma. Nevertheless, some scenes are emotionally intense, psychologically distressing, or graphically described. The nature and severity of the material vary throughout both projects, and this notice cannot anticipate every individual sensitivity. Reader discretion is strongly advised.
Summary
Time was the gift Misty dared to ask of Tiamat—and the first thing it proves is that forever can still bleed. Returned to Sigil with Lysara, Brynja, and their Nightmares freed from the ordinary reach of age, Misty discovers another impossibility taking shape within her: a child conceived through the intimate union of three mothers. Yet while the Ashrivers family struggles to protect that fragile future without turning love into surveillance, the thirty-five children of their refuge begin demanding something more difficult than safety—the authority to contradict their immortal protectors, govern their own home, and decide for themselves which doors truly remain open. Then an unfinished entry is discovered in the ledgers of the Gilded Key, suggesting that one of the dead may never have died at all.
The trail leads beyond Sigil, through hidden Wildspace routes and into the predatory reaches of the Astral Sea. Aboard the nearly invisible Night Compass, Misty, Lysara, Brynja, Seraphine, Irixa, and Orianna pursue a trafficking network that does more than imprison bodies: it steals names, alters memories, manufactures consent, and writes records designed to prove that captivity was freely chosen. Golden-robed and forever sixteen, her blonde hair divided into a hundred intricate braids, Orianna carries an awakened blade once called the Dagger of Lies. Thora has renamed it No Further—a weapon capable of severing false claims, opening doors that lead genuinely outward, and refusing the powers others once forced Orianna to fear within herself. But when an illithid fleet emerges from the Astral darkness demanding that the crew surrender her, Misty must decide how much of the universe she is willing to tear apart to keep her redeemed sister free.
Beyond that fleet waits the hidden architecture of the Gilded Key: houses of stolen names, markets where memories are currency, and a living archive filled with people whom the multiverse has been taught to forget. Every rescue threatens to become another form of possession. Every recovered identity may belong to someone who no longer wants it. And as Misty’s pregnancy becomes increasingly vulnerable to the psychic violence surrounding them, the Ashrivers must confront the question at the heart of every door they have ever opened: can they destroy a system built upon ownership without claiming the people trapped inside it—and can Orianna break the Gilded Key without allowing its final lock to close around her?
